Youngsters enjoy an afternoon of sport at SNAPPY event

YOUNGSTERS at York charity SNAPPY enjoyed an afternoon of sport.
The event, run by Positive Community Sports Development (PCSD), brought a wide range of sports to the charity’s Lowther Street offices.
Games included basketball, quick cricket, rugby and tennis With more than 15 young people playing throughout the afternoon, SNAPPY volunteer facilitator Mikaela Bailey described the day as “fantastic fun”.
SNAPPY (Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York) provides play and recreational opportunities for children and young people with special needs in the city. It offers a weekly Saturday scheme, as well as holiday opportunities over both easter and summer.
Chris Honor, from PCSD, said: “Being a sports-based organisation, afternoons like this are a perfect way for us to give something back. We want to introduce the kids to the broadest possible range of sports and new experiences.”
