Biker killed on road near Selby named by police
THE biker killed on a Selby road this month has been named as 48-year-old Darrell Mark Wood.
Mr Wood was riding a green Kawasaki motorbike from the A19 towards Market Weighton on the A163, at about 6.30pm on Thursday, August 8, when he was in a collision with a blue BMW 520i which was heading in the opposite direction.
Mr Wood, from Holme on Spalding Moor, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
North Yorkshire Police believe the drivers of a grey mini bus, similar in size to a Vauxhall Vivaro, and a tractor on the A163, near to the Double 6 garage may have seen the motorcycle prior to the collision, and have urged them to come forward.
Traffic Constable Paul Stamp, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said: “If you were the driver of either the minibus or tractor in the area at the time of the collision, I urge you to come forward straight away as you may have vital information that could progress my investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
