4:17pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Northallerton in the early hours of this morning.
The robbery occurred in Valley Road, close to the Jolly Minister public house at about 1.30am, when a 22-year-old Northallerton man was attacked by at least one man, who was with a group of five or six others.
The victim suffered facial bruising and a suspected broken nose, which required hospital treatment, and the robber stole a Samsung mobile phone and a sandy coloured sleeveless jacket.
Two men from Thirsk, aged 20 and 19, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Lee Allenby, on Northallerton CID, said: “Thankfully, the victim’s injuries were not too severe. However, they could have been far worse and it is only by good luck that they weren’t.”
Anyone who saw the incident, or the group of men prior to the robber, should contact Northallerton CID on 101, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
