York student Millie Sharp stands in as body double for casting of Angelina Jolie waxwork
CELEBRITY look-alike Camilla “Millie” Sharp posed in plaster as a body double for Angelina Jolie, to ensure the casting of a waxwork of the showbiz star went smoothly.
The 20-year-old former University of York student proved the perfect match for creating a mould of the actress’s world-famous physique, so a replica could be produced for the Hollywood Wax Museum on Hollywood Boulevard.
Camilla, whose family home is in Nafferton and is known as Millie to friends and family, was asked by Hull-based waxwork expert Tony Webb to lend her curves to the project.
Millie, a big fan of Angelina Jolie’s acting and music, was thrilled to be told she looked like her idol and said yes to the idea immediately.
The resemblance had been commented on before and people often said she had similar eyes and hair to the star.
But it was a long and painful process to help the figure take shape.
Millie had to stand upright for several hours while her entire body was covered in plaster from neck to toe.
The figure has now been shipped over to the States and the family are waiting to hear when the grand unveiling will be, and whether Angelina will attend in person.
Hull University lecturer Tony first met Millie when she was being interviewed for a course at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, where he also works.
Spotting her as a dead ringer for Angelina’s Jolie’s measurements, she was his first choice when he wanted someone of similar size and shape to the Tomb Raider star.
Millie, of North Street, Nafferton, who used to serve behind the counter in Fenwicks, York, said: “It really was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I was so glad I could help Tony with his masterpiece.”
Mum Andrea, owner of Sharp’s hairdressing salon in Mill Street, Driffield, said: “She is a big fan of Angelina so it was so nice to be told she looked like her favourite celebrity.
“It has been said before there was a resemblance, and I have often thought it, but Millie would be too modest to say so herself.”
