A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has died and two men and a child have been seriously injured in a crash near Drax Power Station.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was travelling in was in a head on collision with another car on the A645 Drax Link Road near Rawcliffe.

The boy was a front-seat passenger in a red Fiat Punto, which collided with a grey Ford Focus C-Max at about 6.20pm yesterday.

The Punto driver, a 25-year-old Goole man, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.

The Focus driver, a 40-year-old local man, and his six-year-old son who was travelling in the front passenger seat, were both taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for treatment for serious injuries.

The Punto was travelling from the direction of Drax towards the roundabout on Rawcliffe Road when it was involved in the head on collision with the Ford Focus.

Police are seeking witnesses and are particularly keen to trace the driver of a small white car which was travelling in front of the red Fiat.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the small white car and the red Punto before the collision should contact Humberside Police on 101.
