FORMER Great Britain Rugby League player and Wakefield Wildcats coach Paul Broadbent dropped in to speak to pupils at York’s Canon Lee School.
He was at the Clifton secondary school to chat to Year 10 GCSE pupils and took time out to take part in a specially organised day of sporting activities.
PE teacher Andrew Moore said the day had gone well. He said: “Paul worked with next year’s GCSE PE students in two groups followed by a mini touch rugby festival, for both boys and girls. He also gave an inspirational talk and went on to work with a select group of pupils after that.”
It was a great opportunity for the pupils at Canon Lee.”
