A keeping healthy morning was held at Auden House, York, held as part of National Falls Awareness Week.
The event, organised by the York Falls Prevention Team, featured simple exercises and the chance to get blood pressure and other health checks. There was also information, advice and guidance on home safety and fall prevention, warden call, telecare services, benefit entitlements and healthy eating.
The initiative also encourages older people to ditch their dangerous old, worn slippers and have their toe nails checked or cut.
Sally said: “This is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the simple things that older people can do to keep healthy and safe, improve their fitness and get advice on any more specific issues they may have.”
