A new pop-up advice centre offering information on local fitness opportunities has opened in the city centre.

City of York Council’s Just 30 Express will be staffed by members of the sport and active leisure team from Monday to Friday, from 11am to 3pm, until Friday 21 June. It is situated at 2a, Little Shambles, between Newgate Market and The Shambles.

Councillor Sonja Crisp, cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism said: “The Just 30 Express supports the city’s campaign to encourage people to do just 30 minutes of physical activity a day. Friendly and qualified staff will be on hand to show people the huge variety of health and fitness activities in York and to give personal advice about how best to do more exercise.

“The advice is free and informal and will be ideal for anyone wanting to become more active, whatever their level of fitness at the moment.”

As well as help and advice, a number of daily deals and guest passes will be up for grabs each week. There will also be draws to win great prizes, including signed York City merchandise and Energise fitness suite membership.
