Students were given a chance to meet local employers and find out more about current job vacancies when York College held its jobs fair.

The event provided information about opportunities in the area, including apprenticeships and information on CV writing.

A number of employers attended, including The Press, promoting its Foundation For Jobs campaign, City of York Council, Nestlé, McDonalds, the Food and Environment Research Agency, York Racecourse, the Lindum Group and Yorkshire Water.

Employers spoke to students who are expecting to be looking for jobs when they leave the college during the summer.

Andy D’Agorne, the college’s careers adviser, said: “Throughout the year, York College offers students dedicated careers advice and this jobs fair is an annual event which helps those who are job-seeking.

“This is all with a view to providing students with the best possible information so that after their studies they can progress to employment, higher education or apprenticeships.”
