YORK’S Fudge Kitchen is celebrating its 30th anniversary by recruiting local people to make 30 batches of fudge in one day.
The business, which is one of seven Fudge Kitchen branches in the UK, will compete against its other shops to make the batches as quickly as possible, to an 1830s American recipe which involves “creaming and loafing” the fudge on a five-foot marble slab.
Members of the public are invited to attend wearing clothes from the 1980s next Saturday to help the York shop in its bid for fudge making supremacy, alongside other activities, promotions and tasters.
