POVERTY and inequality in York and the surrounding region will be discussed in a unique digital conference next week.
Local media outlets, experts and charities have joined forces to host an open discussion on twitter next Wednesday, April 24, about the problems and possible solutions in York and elsewhere.
Topics will include housing, the living wage, destitution, and benefits, and there will be discussion on how local and national policy can help those most in need.
Researchers from the York-based Joseph Rowntree Foundation will be on hand to provide expert analysis and input, and City of York Council, local politicians and anti-poverty charities will also be contributing.
The event is organised and will be run jointly by local media, including The Press, BBC Radio York, The York Mix and One&Other York.
