A YORK St John University student has been given the opportunity to see his t-shirt design worn by all the competitors in the 2013 Heart Of York bike ride.

Joe Farmer, 19, who is studying product design, came out the winner after submitting his design into a competition organised by the British Heart Foundation. Joe, who is a cycling enthusiast, said: “I’m delighted to have won the competition and can’t wait to see my design being worn by hundreds of cyclists at this year’s event.”

He was also given the honour of leading out the bike ride this September, in a yellow Tour de France-inspired version of his t-shirt. The bike ride raises funds for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, an initiative aimed at repairing damaged hearts of people who suffer heart failure following an attack.
