DOUBLE-WINNING Knavesmire Primary School added the league title to their CADE Trophy triumph to cap a momentous season.

Knavesmire became the first team to secure top spot after a 2-0 win over Headlands earned them the League ‘D’ championship.

Headlands had been riding high on the back of a 5-0 victory over St George’s.

Appleton Roebuck are close to clinching the League ‘H’ crown after a string of wins.

Cameron Orr led the goalscoring with two, while Tom Quick, Ryan Ford, Andrew Stubbs and Ben Gibbs also scored as they stunned Sand Hutton 6-0.

Stubbs got two goals and Matthew Long added the third when beating Rufforth 3-0, and Appleton Roebuck also defeated the same team 7-0.

In League ‘E’, Acomb grabbed an essential 0-0 draw against second-placed Osbaldwick to stay ahead of the pack.

A 4-0 win over Yearsley saw St Wilfrid’s rocket to the top of the league, with only Derwent capable of catching them.

Westfield have completed their League ‘A’ games, losing only one of the eight.

However, their defeat was a 2-0 reverse to Woodthorpe, who they had previously defeated 2-1. If Woodthorpe win their three remaining games they can pinch the title at the death.

League ‘B’ has been the most enthralling battle so far, with all the teams still capable of winning the title after bottom side Huntington’s 2-0 victory over leaders Carr.

Harry Dunn and Dom Jackson were the scorers, and Mykah Smith man of the match, as Archbishop of York defeated Robert Wilkinson 2-1 to go second.

Heworth and Poppleton Road are level on points at the top of League ‘D’ and they will meet in a title decider in the last game.

League ‘C’ has seen two 6-0 wins fire Dunnington into first place – both games against Fulford St Oswald’s.

Birthday boy Jay Morgan-Tolworthy, Harry Barron, Charles Ford, Charlie Cresswell and Finlay Smith (2) were the home scorers.

Hob Moor are second and have two games to play against Dunnington to decide the destination of the title.
