Town hall consultation ‘a success’

Consultation over the planned refurbishment of Silsden Town Hall has been hailed a success.
Local councillor Andrew Mallinson said many residents went along to the town hall to discover details of the £300,000 project.
He said townspeople were "inquisitive" about Bradford Council's proposals to improve the building and increase usage.
He said: "They had very good ideas, they were challenging, and they came up with suggestions."
Coun Mallinson, who represents Silsden on Bradford Council, is a leading light in the refurbishment project.
Bradford Council recently granted £300,000 for the refurbishment, to be recouped from the sale of the library in Wesley Place. Library facilities will move into the town hall.
Coun Mallinson said people at were concerned whether the town hall would provide enough space for the library. but said that in addition to the library adjacent rooms could be used for activities such as book clubs.
