INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the death of a studio assistant to the artist David Hockney.
Dominic Elliott, 23, died hospital after being taken from the painter’s East Yorkshire home to Scarborough General Hospital, where he died on Sunday morning.
Humberside Police is making inquiries into what happened before Mr Elliott arrived at hospital - including talking to friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and associates, a police spokesman said.
A Home Office postmortem examination is expected to taken place today at Hull Royal Infirmary.
A spokesman for Humberside Police said: “Whilst it is hoped this may provide some clues as to the cause of Mr Elliott’s death, results from post mortem examinations are not always conclusive and it may then take several more weeks for complete results to be available to provide a pathologist with the information required to identify any cause.”
Mr Elliott had sat for the artist on more than one occasion at his studio in Bridlington, sources have said.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Elliott by members of Bridlington Rugby Club for which he played.
