North Yorkshire Lion in Scottish Parliament talk

A SENIOR Lion from North Yorkshire has spoken in the Scottish Parliament on Lions United Nations Day.

John Sutherland, of Easingwold and District Lions, chaired a meeting celebrating the long association between the UN and Lions Clubs International.

A spokesman said Lions United Nations celebrations took place each year across the British Isles and Ireland, and the Scottish Parliament hosted Scotland’s event. He said John in his position as District Governor for North East England and Scotland represented Lions International at the celebration.

He said: “The theme this year is our youth, recognising youth volunteering in the worldwide community. Here at home, Easingwold District Lions Club is working closely with the local schools to support youth activities in our community.”
