A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in an accident on the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened just before 11am today.
A spokeswoman said the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was travelling towards Harrogate and came off his bike as he travelled behind a silver Mercedes which had stopped behind a blue Ford Focus waiting to turn right near the Black Bull Hotel, Felliscliffe, at the junction of Constable Ridge Road.
“The rider was struck by a Land Rover Freelander travelling in the opposite direction and sadly died at the scene of the collision,” she said.
