Chance to have a say on crime issues
9:31am Saturday 16th March 2013 in News
PEOPLE who would like to have a say about plans for policing and tackling crime in York and North Yorkshire are urged to come forward.
The draft Police and Crime Plan, which has been put together by new police and crime commissioner Julia Mulligan, is under consultation until Monday.
The plan sets out aims to tackle repeat offenders, give better support to victims and to relocate North Yorkshire Police headquarters from Newby Wiske.
Mrs Mulligan said: “This consultation has given residents a real opportunity to get involved in the development of this plan, and I am grateful to all those who have given us their thoughts.
“We are now reviewing each one to see where we might need to change the plan before we present it to the Police and Crime Panel and ultimately publish it for our communities.
“I would welcome as much input from people as possible so if you haven’t already contacted us, then please don’t miss the chance”.
