A ROAD near Goole remains closed after a lorry overturned spilling frozen fish into the carriageway.
Police were called at 2.45am to reports of a lorry having overturned on the M62 eastbound between junctions 34 and 35. The 44-tonne lorry was carrying about ten tonnes of frozen fish, some of which has spilled onto the road.
Police say they expect the M62 to remain closed for some time yet.
The 47-year-old male driver of the lorry suffered head injuries which are not thought to be life threatening and was dealt with by paramedics.
The lorry itself is blocking the whole road and some of the frozen fish from the load has also spread over onto the opposite carriageway.
A full closure is currently in place at junction 34 eastbound of the M62 with diversions via the A19 and A645 or the A19, A63 and A1041 for high vehicles.
