LATEST - Man, 27, charged over Clifton assault

A MAN has been charged with wounding with intent to cause GBH after a woman recieved serious injuries in Clifton

Police are carrying enquiries in and around Burdyke Avenue, where the incident took place at about 9pm on Saturday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the house and has now been charged and will appear before magistrates on Monday.

Detective Inspector Shaun Page of York’s Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, said: “We believe that neighbours or passing members of the public may have seen or heard a disturbance at the property prior to the assault, or as the woman was being assaulted.

“To support our enquiries and ensure justice is secured for the victim, it is vital that anyone with any information which could assist the investigation comes forward.”
