No squabbling over King Richard

MPs should not squabble over the final resting place of King Richard III, the Commons was told ahead of a debate on the issue next week.

Sir Tony Baldry, the Second Church Estates Commissioner, said convention dictates bodies should be reburied in the nearest suitable church – in this case, Leicester Cathedral.

However, Labour’s York Central MP Hugh Bayley has called for the king to be buried in York and will lead an adjournment debate on the issue on Tuesday. Mr Bayley said: “It would be wrong to bicker in the Commons about the burial place and the matter should now be considered by experts.”

MP's have more important things to do like saving the UK's economy rather than waste time squabbling about Richard 111 bones

How a Nation treats it's History is as vital to it's well-being as any debate on the economy.Part of Britain's problems in the last forty years has been the degrading of the importance of it's own Past, therefore undermining a positive sense of self-identity,of which Richard III is a colourful part-we should all be concerned for how we treat our Historical forbears as we would our nearest and dearest.

Well, they (or their medieval equivalent "Knights of the Shires") certainly squabbled about him when he was alive so ... what's new?

What's wrong with a compromise?

Stick half of the scraps somewhere in Leicester and the rest of the dog bones in the Yorkshire museum.
