A BRAWL involving two groups at York train station is being investigated by British Transport Police.
A group of 10 to 12 people were involved in the large-scale fight in the waiting room on platforms ten and 11 at about 8.10pm on Saturday.
Two 21-year-old men from Stockton-on-Tees have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail.
PC Dave Knox, the investigating officer, said: “It appears an altercation between two groups took place, and the fight was stopped when police officers and members of the public intervened.
“Police are asking anyone who was at the station at the time, or who has any information about the incident to come forward.
“We have already made two arrests in connection with the incident, but need to identify others who may be responsible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting B3/NEA of 05/03/2013 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
