Teenager aims for beauty pageant glory

A YORK mother is urging the city to get behind her daughter as she aims to reach the final of a teen beauty pageant.
Samantha Hadaway, of Poppleton, says her daughter Emma, 15, a Manor School pupil, is the only girl in York to make it to the semi final of Miss Teen Queen 2013 and now needs the support and votes of York residents to make it to the final.
“Emma was scouted at the Clothes show in Birmingham in December, has got through two rounds and is now in the final 100 girls from 19,500 who entered,” she said.
She said people can support Emma by texting 81319 and writing Emma’s code, TQ84, in the message field. She said the cost was 75p per text, with some of the money going to charity.
