IT’S one of the crunch nights in York’s year as the city’s councillors meet to thrash out their annual budget – and The Press will be keeping you posted every step of the way.

City of York Council will decide its budget tonight for the next two years, during which time it must save £20 million.

Proposals include raising council tax, increasing parking charges and leaving parks unlocked, with hundreds of jobs set to be axed.
