Wanted York man arrested

POLICE have arrested a wanted York man.

Craig Mulgrew, 24, of Wains Road, York, was wanted for recall to prison for breaching the terms of his release licence, North Yorkshire Police said.

Mulgrew was sentenced to four years and nine months imprisonment at York Crown Court in July 2009, for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was released in June 2011.

Mulgrew was arrested at an address in York at 6.25pm on Tuesday after calling police to hand himself in.

He is due to be returned to prison, police said.

Police had appealed for public help in tracking down Mulgrew.

Officers working in the west of York made the arrest.
