Big fun with little trains at the National Railway Museum
9:39am Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News
Chefs Nathan Wheatley, Sam Potts and Mike Bourlet join in the fun at the National Railway Museum
CHEFS from the National Railway Museum café in York tested out these ride-on locomotives ahead of their Big Fun With Little Trains event.
The event is a showcase of toys and model trains, ranging from children’s pedal trains to rides on miniature railways.
As well as all the activities on site, visitors can explore the museum warehouse, which is housing a collection of model railway vehicles that boasts a Guinness World Record for being the largest collection made by one person.
Zoe Roberts, public programme developer, said: “We have a range of fun activities to keep children and their parents entertained throughout half- term and all under one roof.”
The museum’s holiday events are taking place until Sunday. The event is free, though small charges may apply to some activities.
