Yorkshire people at their physical peak at 26

A NEW survey has revealed the optimum age for physical fitness is 26 and the age at which the average person in Yorkshire aspires to stay physically active is 57.

The poll of 2,000 people was commissioned by the British Heart Foundation.

More than a third (35 per cent) of those surveyed cited eating a healthy diet as the reason behind them feeling at their physical peak.

This was closely followed by going to the gym and playing for sports clubs.

Also in the top five were drinking less alcohol and playing sports at school or college.

More than one in ten (12 per cent) said the last time they were really physically active was a school, college or university. The pressures of modern life were blamed for declining fitness levels.

What a load of total 'rowlocks'. How have they arrived at such a stupid opinion? it must be the 2000 people who potter into the charity shop week after week, walking sticks at the slope, none needed, just a kick up the aspect ratio to move them a little faster. To aspire to remain physically active until 57 years old is just pathetic, I aspire to be physically active till 97 years old, and up to now, at 75, I have every chance of achieving same. BHF, get out and about and get some relative information, your survey is a joke, and a possible waste of money.
