Poppleton residents eye Yorkshire In Bloom gold

ORGANISERS of the Yorkshire In Bloom competition in Poppleton are going for gold this year after gaining a silver gilt award in 2012.

Plans are taking shape. The organisers are hoping for more involvement from villagers and to make the village more colourful this time.

They are again looking for the best front garden in Poppleton, for which there will be a £100 prize. Anyone who wishes to enter should phone Mike Walker on 01904 790780 with their details.

Any residents who have ideas for making the village more floral or who are willing to give some time planting the tubs and baskets when the time comes, or even make a donation towards the cost of the plants, should also phone Mike.
