AN accident near the Grimston Bar roundabout in York during rush hour yesterday saw traffic tailbacks while two vehicles were recovered.

The incident happened on the sliproad from the A64 to the A1079 at about 8.35am.

A Peugeot 306 collided with a Renault articulated lorry a few yards on to the slip road.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the car had run into the back of the lorry, breaking the lights of the larger vehicle, and leaving both undriveable.

Nobody was thought to be injured in the collision, but one lane of the slip road was closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered.
