MOTORISTS on the North York Moors have been warned to take care today after a string of accidents.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called out to help drivers at about 8.45am today after two cars skidded on ice on the A171 at Skelder junction, near Whitby, with one ending up on its side and the other on its roof.
Fire crews also dealt with a crash just before 11am today at Rosedale, near Pickering, when another car overturned. Nobody was injured in any of the accidents, but the fire service said driving conditions on the Moors were "particularly bad" today because of icy roads and high winds.
