A VIOLENT offender who stamped repeatedly on the head and body of a man in York city centre is still being hunted by police.

Kyle Illingworth, 22, of Cornlands Road in Acomb, was jailed for four-and-a-half years in 2010 for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Illingworth, and two others, attacked a man while he was on a night out in King Street, causing him to undergo surgery on his face.

Illingworth was released in September 2012 and is since suspected of being involved in a number of offences including criminal damage, common assault, public order and failing to answer police bail, North Yorkshire Police said.

Anyone who can help to locate Illingworth is urged to phone North Yorkshire Police on 101. Crimestoppers can be phoned anonymously on 0800 555 111.
