Breathing life into lung awareness campaign

THIS huge pair of “mega lungs” was brought in to York Hospital to help breathe life into a campaign of free health checks and advice for visitors.

The 12-foot high lungs were part of an event hosted by the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and the Hospital’s lung cancer specialist team.

A spokesman for the hospital said: “The Mega Lungs are visiting the area to raise awareness of lung diseases such as lung cancer and other chronic lung conditions – COPD and sleep apnoea.The Lung cancer team also aimed to raise awareness of the common signs and symptoms to improve early diagnosis.
