TWO teenagers will appear in court next month accused of garage burglaries in York and causing criminal damage.
The 16-year-old and 17-year-old, who are both from York, were arrested at 3.40am on Monday after the owner of a house in Rawcliffe Lane found his garage had been broken into, with a golf club stolen.
The 16-year-old has been charged with the burglary as well as a separate garage break-in in Westholme Drive on Saturday, where cans of lager were stolen, and criminal damage to the windscreen wiper of a car parked in Clifton on Monday.
The 17-year-old is accused of stealing a screwdriver from a car parked in the Rawcliffe Lane garage, stealing bikes during a garage burglary on Reighton Avenue yesterday, and the Westholme Drive burglary.
They have been released on bail and will appear at York Youth Court on February 12.
