AN investigation has been launched into an arson attack at a York secondary school.
Officers have released CCTV images of a man suspected of setting light to an industrial-sized waste bin at All Saints RC School, in Mill Mount Lane.
The suspect was seen to cycle into the school grounds around the time of the fire, at 7am on January 19.
The fire caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the bin store area.
PC Pete McFarlane, of York West Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This was a mindless act of vandalism which has needlessly cost the school money to have the damage repaired.
“I am appealing to anyone who recognises the suspect in the images we have released, or as any other information that can help the investigation to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone who recognises the man - who was wearing a black hooded top - should call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
