TINY trains will be bringing a lot of fun to the National Railway Museum in York at half-term.
The museum, in Leeman Road, is putting on a nine-day celebration of toy and model trains, which will include a public vote to decide which toy train set is the nation’s favourite.
The winner, which could be anything from Thomas The Tank Engine to a classic Hornby model railway, will earn a place in the vast collection.
John McGoldrick, curator of Museum Collections, said: “Railway toys have played a huge part in the childhoods of many and we felt the time was right to add the nation’s favourite toy item into the collection.”
The Big Fun With Little Trains event runs from February 16 to 24.
