A MAN has been arrested over a break-in at a North Yorkshire industrial site which sparked a police helicopter search.
Officers were called to Landing Lane in Riccall, near Selby, at 1.15am on Monday, when a Subaru was seen leaving the site and heading away from Riccall.
Although police followed the vehicle along King Rudding Lane, it went through flood water and off the road, then people were seen running from it.
Officers called for air support from West Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Police’s dog section also attended, a police spokesman said.
The vehicle was seized by police.
A 21-year-old man from Escrick was arrested later that day, on suspicion of going equipped for theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
He had been released on bail while inquiries continue, a police spokesman said.
