A PASSENGER in a car involved in a crash in North Yorkshire this afternoon has died.
The collision, involving a foreign-registered Ford Focus and a Toyota 4x4 which was towing a trailer, happened just before 4pm today on the A658 at Kirby Overblow, near Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police have now confirmed the male passenger in the Ford died at the scene of the crash. The drivers of both vehicles have been taken to hospital, with the stretch of road set to be closed until at least 9pm today to allow the cars to be removed and collision investigation teams to examine the scene.
The Toyota was heading towards Buttersyke Barand the Ford was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the crash, with firefighters, paramedics and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance being called to the scene.
Anybody who saw the crash or either of the vehicles involved before it happened should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 298.
