Flood-hit York pub plans to reopen

A YORK pub that closed due to flooding in September is seeking a new publican and hopes to reopen in February.

The publican of the Jubilee pub in Jubilee Terrace decided to leave the pub after the pub’s cellar was flooded in September, said a spokeswoman for owners Enterprise Inns. It was then further damaged by more flooding in December.

The spokeswoman said: “We are actively recruiting for a new publican to take the pub business forward, following the former publican’s decision to leave the business. Minor works are currently being carried out at the property with a view to reopening in February.”

In the job description for Publican, do you need to have your own scuba gear to get to the cellar?
Only joking, it would be good to see the pub open again.

With a great real ale brewpub like The Junction nearby, Enterprise really will have to up their game and put some significant investment to make The Jubilee successful.

Became a real hole towards the end of its previous life. Could be a lovely community pub if money spent on it.
