Becky Ford, 21, an occupational therapy student at York St John University, has spent her lunchtimes this week dressed as a loaf of bread asking fellow students to sign cards campaigning against global hunger.

After the first day, Becky was joined by Will Needham, another volunteer with the university’s ethics and environment group, dressed as a fish.

Each signed card calls on David Cameron to use his presidency of the G8 to tip the balance of power in favour of small-scale farmers who grow half the world’s food and to push for checks on the power of global food companies.
