Police issue e-fit of Layerthorpe robber
AN E-FIT image has been released of a man detectives want to trace following a robbery in York.
A 19-year-old woman was robbed in Layerthorpe in the early hours of Tuesday.
As reported, the victim was walking home alone after a night out when two men approached her as she passed the old ATS car park. They grabbed hold of her before searching her handbag and stealing her mobile phone, keys and cash.
Her phone was later recovered at the junction with Fifth Avenue and Glen Avenue but her keys were not found. They were on a large, red, plastic key fob and another key ring with a picture on one side and the letters “VIP” written on the reverse.
This e-fit shows one of the men, who was wearing a maroon hooded top at the time.
He is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a round face and short, brown receding hair. He has small eyes, bushy eyebrows, with a thin upper lip and a thick lower lip.
The other man officers are looking for is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, and about 6ft tall. He was wearing a grey hooded top underneath a dark jacket.
Officers are appealing to anyone who recognises the men from to come forward, as well as anyone who witnessed the incident or has come across the stolen property. Phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
