Two car crash causes heavy tailbacks on A19

UPDATE 9.39am: A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the road has now been reopened after both vehicles were recovered.

Nobody was injured in the collision.

HEAVY tailbacks have been reported on the A19 into York, following a crash between two 4x4 vehicles on the southbound carriageway.

The incident was reported at about 8.35 this morning, at Main Street in Shipton.

Emergency services are currently on the scene, but heavy tailbacks have been reported north of the incident, heading towards York.
