British Transport Police have released this CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a woman was verbally assaulted on a train in North Yorkshire.
The woman, 37 from Hunmanby, was on the 8.53pm York to Scarborough service on December 1, when she walked down the aisle towards the toilets.
As she passed a group of about ten men, one is alleged to have attempted to trip her up. When she challenged them one of the men verbally abused her.
Investigating officer PC Harry Thompson appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
He said: “The language used was extremely derogatory and unpleasant. This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable and we are determined to find the person responsible. We would encourage anyone who recognises the man in the picture, or knows his whereabouts, to get in touch.”
Anyone with information or who recognises the man in the picture is urged to phone British Transport Police on 0800 405040, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
