ONE of York’s most historic buildings is in need of volunteers and paid staff to help bring the past to life.

The National Trust is holding two recruitment days later this week for anyone interested helping with the running of Treasurer’s House in Minster Yard.

Lisa Holden, visitor services manager, said volunteers “did not need to be history buffs”.

She said: “As well as the key role of room guides, who help bring the room to life by telling the fascinating stories of the house, we are also looking for volunteers to support our social media, website and photography, allowing us to capture our history in increasingly diverse ways for our visitors to enjoy.”

The recruitment days take place on Friday and Saturday from 11.30am to 2pm at Treasurer’s House.
