Road closed after A1079 crash

A two-car crash on the A1079 outside York tonight has left one person in hospital and closed the road.
The crash happened on the westbound carriageway at Barmby Moor between the B1246 and Main Street at about 6.10pm.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said one person was taken to hospital following the incident, and officers were diverting traffic until about 8pm to allow the vehicle to be recovered. the spokeswoman could not confirm the injuries sustained by the motorist.
