Six arrests in crackdown on burglaries

NORTH Yorkshire Police have arrested several people in the York area as part of Operation Haven, a crackdown on burglaries.

A 38-year-old York man was arrested on Thursday following a burglary in Green Dykes Lane, York.

A 48-year-old York man was arrested the same day in connection with a burglary in Heslington Road over Christmas, and a 51-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of theft and arranging to handle stolen goods.

Two men from York, aged 24 and 26, have also been arrested in connection with a commercial burglary in Moor Lane, York, on December 30, while a 23-year-old Bradford man was arrested in connection with two burglaries in York, one in Asquith Avenue on December 12 and one in Fifth Avenue on December 4.
