Teenager arrested after York market van theft

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested this morning following the theft of a van from York's Newgate Market.
The Ford Transit van was taken from outside Gert and Henry's restaurant at about 5.35pm on Wednesday and driven through the market, with stalls and an electricity junction box being damaged.
North Yorkshire Police sent out an appeal for information and have today said the teenager, who is from York, was arrested just after 8am on suspicion of aggravated vehicle-taking. He is currrently in custody.
