Six people have been arrested in connection with separate burglaries in Thirsk and York.

He appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until December 28.

Another 18-year-old York man was also arrested in connection with the same burglary. He was released on police bail after being charged with producing cannabis at a property in York, and will appear at York Magistrates Court on January 9.

A further two men were arrested early yesterday on suspicion of burglary in York. One man, aged 32, of no fixed address, and another aged 25, from York, were arrested shortly after a burglary was reported in Wellington Street. Both men were being held in police custody for questioning.

In a separate incident in York, police stopped a white van in Ostman Road just after midnight on Wednesday. The van was searched and two 23-year-old men from York were arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and possessing an offensive weapon. Both were released on bail while inquiries continue.
