A HOUSEBOAT was at the centre of a midnight drama when it took on too much water at its Bishopthorpe moorings.
York firefighters were called out at ten minutes past midnight to keep the boat afloat. They used a portable pump to pump water out of the boat into the River Ouse and stabilised it before returning to their station.
