Drug drive arrest follows A64 collision near York

A 19-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and four people taken to hospital after a crash partially blocked the A64 just north of York today.

A Ford Focus with an elderly couple inside collided with a Fiesta allegedly driven by the teenager with a young woman passenger near the junction with Barr Lane which leads to Stockton-on-the-Forest.

All four were taken to York Hospital with injuries by ambulance but none are believed to be seriously injured. The 19-year-old was arrested after medical attention.

The road was partially blocked following the crash at 2.30pm today.
