RUFFORTH United Under-13s are celebrating their first-ever win in their second season of competitive football in York Mitchell Sports League division two.
The team beat Poppleton 3-0 in their tenth league game of the campaign, moving them off the bottom of the table above Haxby Town.
Coach Nigel Faxon said: “The team have been together for three years and are now in their second season in the league.
“We have managed to keep a squad of 16 to 17 young lads playing every week, despite losing every match.
“However, we have won 3-0 against Poppleton!
“Wonderful.”
